Amsterdam started as a small fishing village in the late 12th century – according to its history, two fishermen founded it. The name Amsterdam comes from the river Amstel and the Dam that they built to be able to construct the city. It is the capital and one of the most populous cities of Netherlands… and it is so vibrant. Had I been living here, I would probably be painting – the city is art inspiring. It’s like feeling Van Gogh’s presence in some nooks and corners.
