There’s a lot of this plant growing in our backyard – thanks to my brother who brought it home from somewhere. Commonly known as Strelitzia, Crane Flower or Bird of Paradise (of course, there are real Bird of Paradise who flies.) According to Wikipedia, Bird of Paradise flowers are associated with liberty, magnificence, and good perspective. And though I’m not sure, I think this is the flower that Superman offered to Lois Lane the morning after the night he brought her in his Fortress of Solitude… 🙂

a beautiful post…I like flowers…every saturday night I arrange a bouquet of flowers…in three pots…one with two roses, one yellow, other white…other with also two roses, one yellow, other white and in the third pot one arrangement with astromelias with different colours…my mother like flowers too…she does very beautiful paintings when it is possible
