Though Venice has been famously known for its canals, the reason is not because of quantity. Amsterdam has more canals and bridges ergo it is also known as the “Venice of the North.” This capital of Netherlands has over 165 canals, which in total add up to more than one hundred kilometers or about 60 miles. It also has 1,281 bridges – that is three times as many as that of Venice. Here’s a few of those canals:
