The Grand Château de Versailles.

Château de Versailles is not only famous as a building but also a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy in France during the old regime. It started as a hunting lodge or a resting place made of brick and stone by Louis XIII in the 1623. Louis XIV with Louis Le Vau as the original architect expanded it into a royal palace. A lot of expansions and remodeling followed many years after that until it reach this overwhelmingly grand state.
