Butterflies and moths are one of the most well known insects. Although both are of Lepidopteran species, they have several differences that can be easily recognize. For one, butterflies are bright and colorful while moths possess a dull color. I found this one resting on a leaf; it is brown in color so I believe it’s a moth. But with that dull brown color is a bright red tongue and blazing red eyes.
