Today is Earth Day. And here’s one of the Philippines‘ contributions to a greener and healthier environment: the Bangui Windmills. Located up north in Ilocos Region, these windmills consists of wind turbines that capture wind energy and transformed by electrical generators to be transformed into usable energy. Many communities in the area now rely on these windmills as their source of electricity.
You have to be grateful for their clean power but they are certainly a commanding presence along that pristine coastline.

Palm Springs, about 100 miles from me, has a few thousand of them. I like them because when you get so many of them, like in your pictures, they make nice subjects whereas a single one doesn’t do much for me.
agree. i imagine seeing only one… i think it would make me feel like don quixote of la mancha and will try to fight it down. 😀
